Botox treatment can provides migraine relief in some patients

Migraine sufferers are getting relief from a new treatment - Botox injections. Plastic surgeons have been using injections of the muscle relaxant Botox to smooth wrinkled brows for several years, but recent clinical studies have shown that Botox can also significantly reduce migraine frequency, migraine severity, acute medication usage, and associated vomiting.

Intacs for Keratoconus

Intacs are FDA approved for treatment of Keratoconus. Now, there is hope for Keratoconus patients who can no longer tolerate contact lenses, or who can't achiever good vision with glasses or contacts. Before Intacs, the only choice at that point was corneal transplantation. Intacs offer a much less invasive alternative to corneal tranplanation for Keratoconus.

Intacs for Nearsightedness

In the United States, Intacs are approved for treatment of nearsightedness up to -3.00 diopters.  In Europe, INTACS inserts are now approved for patients with -0.50D to -5.00D of myopia and 1.00D or less of astigmatism. Addition Technology is currently conducting studies in Europe using INTACS inserts for the treatment of hyperopia, keratoconus and myopia with greater than 1.00D of astigmatism.
