Vision Correction Surgery Technology

Surgeon experience combined with the latest advances in laser vision technology are two important elements that determine how you will see after Vision Correction surgery. At Inland Vision Care, we invest heavily training and in leading edge technology. Our commitment to you is that we will not take short cuts to save you a few dollars.

Vision Correction Surgery, or Refractive Surgery, is one of the most technologically advanced areas of vision treatment. While the procedures are quick and virtually painless, and vision improvement rapid, it is still Eye Surgery.  Choose your eye surgeon carefully, and ask him to personally discuss with you the many options for Vision Correction Surgery.

Diagnostic Technology:

State-of-the-art diagnostic equipment is important because it's used to determine whether you are a candidate for laser vision correction, and if so, which procedure is most appropriate for you. It's also used to calculate the customized settings for the laser for your particular treatment. Visit our Technology Page for a description.

Intacs:

This revolutionary non-laser technology is designed to correct low to moderate nearsightedness without removing any tissue from the eye.  The Intacs ultrathin prescription inserts are removable and replaceable if your vision needs change.  Intacs are also showing great promise in the treatment of Keratoconus.

Conductive Keratoplasty (CK):

This is the newest vision correction technology, designed especially for baby-boomers who have had excellent vision most of their lives, but have become dependent on reading glasses. Presbyopia, or age-related loss of near vision, can be treated with Conductive Keratoplasty using radiowaves to strengthen the focusing power of the cornea. This FDA-approved procedure requires no laser, no cutting, and no tissue removal, leaves the central cornea untouched, and takes only several minutes in the office.

Lasers:

Now in its second decade of use, the technologically advanced Excimer laser has added a tremendous amount of precision, control and safety to treating nearsightedness and farsightedness , and astigmatism. It is an excellent treatment, especially when the amount of nearsightedness and/or astigmatism exceeds the amount treatable with Intacs.
